Lambert's Downtown BBQ (2nd and Guadalupe)

Just a short while ago the Burger Kidz and accompanying crew munched out hard down at Lambert's, current workplace of Alex H. and Reid. Lambert's is owned locally and has been open for a little over one year. I ordered a plain and dry burger [JST MEAT ADN CHZ!] which comes with a small serving of herbed waffle fries. Also we had a side of "Loaded" Mashed Potatoes and Green Chili Queso for an appetizer. The burger itself is fantastic, one large, fresh grilled, juicy beef patty, filled with onions and all sorts of extra seasoning inside. The beef itself is a 50/50 ratio of fat to beef, giving it an, albeit unhealthy, marvelous taste. The bun of the burger could use a little work however. It is quite thin to begin with, but once the juice of the burger seeps down, it becomes soggy and is really quite disgusting, although, in spite of that, the fries are a great plus. With little relevancy to Burger Kidz itself, the mashed potatoes and the chips and queso at Lambert's are the absolute best I have eaten at any restaurant in Austin. If you were to give anything at Lambert's a try, go in knowing it is slightly upscale, and you would probably want to tag along with one of the Burger Menz for a pimp discount.
I give the Lambert's Wood Grilled Cheeseburger and Waffle Fries a mouth-watering 8.5 french fries out of 10.
